it’s a wrap…
So… I’ve made a decision… I’m quitting this blog. It was really fun for a while, but now it’s begun to feel like a chore, and I’ve barely had time to read any other blogs over the last couple of weeks, let alone do a post.
I thought about just keeping it on and posting occasionally, but I know what I’m like, I’d keep having ideas for it and it would be occupy my mind even if I wasn’t working on it regularly, so I figure it’s best to call it a day (for now at least… you never know, in 6 months or so I could have a change of heart!).
Other key reasons for stopping are that I work at a computer most days, so I really need to pursue hobbies which don’t involve looking at a screen. I recently took a drawing class so I could get back into drawing, so maybe time not blogging will be time I can do that.
Another reason is that I’ve become frustrated with the limitations of my camera. If I’m doing anything I want to keep making it better, but I just can’t get the image quality I want, so I feel like I’ve hit a dead end in terms of how appealing I can make it. Good quality images are so key for style blogs…
I do plan to keep taking photos of outfits when I get the chance, it really does give a much more objective idea of how something looks that you don’t get with a mirror. Plus its an interesting archive, I wish I’d done it when I was younger (although the idea would’ve made me cringe to death!!), as it’s really interesting to look back on (a kind of sartorial evolution), it’s also helped me combat my camera-shyness!
